Whole scenes, not single objects
These are the pages for a child who has outgrown one large animal in the middle of a sheet. A forest scene has trees, undergrowth, a path and usually something hidden in it. Mountains, lakes, waterfalls, deserts, islands and camping scenes work the same way.
Slow work, on purpose
A landscape page is not a five minute activity. That is the point: it gives an older child something to return to across several sittings, which is a different and more satisfying kind of attention than finishing a page in one go.

- Longer than most. A detailed landscape can hold a seven year old for half an hour or more.
